Jesús Gavilán Hormigo

After finishing his Law Degree at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in September 2010, he prepared the state examination to enter the Career as a Public Prosecutor until September 2012, but for strictly

vocational reasons, he decided to dedicate himself to the practice of law and ADR (Mediation, Negotiation and Arbitration).

Between September 2012 and February 2013, he began his professional practice as a lawyer in the law firm “Estudio Jurídico Lema”, whose managing partner is the prestigious Professor Carlos Lema Devesa, having the opportunity to work in diverse procedures in Civil-Commercial matters, and specifically, in Intellectual and Industrial Property and Unfair Competition.

Then, between March 2013 and February 2014, he was part of the legal team of “Angulo&Bohorques”, a consulting firm directed by the former Ambassador of Spain Carmelo Angulo Barturen, where he provided legal advice to individuals and legal entities both nationally and internationally, with a special focus on the collaboration between Spanish and Latin American companies, in Civil and Commercial, Corporate, Comparative Law and International Contracts.

From March 2014 to June of the same year, he worked as a junior lawyer in Corporate Social Responsibility at “Gas Natural Fenosa”, within the Communications Office and Chairman’s Office.

From July 2014 to July 2015, he worked as a junior lawyer at “ILOCAD S.L.” (International Legal Office for Cooperation and Development), a law firm managed by former Judge Baltasar Garzón Real, where he had the opportunity to work as a lawyer in Civil and Commercial, Economic Criminal, Administrative, International Public, Comparative Law and Human Rights.

From August 2015 to January 2017, he worked as a senior general practice lawyer in “Gabeiro Global Advisors Abogados”, a law firm he founded together with several partners and in which he assumed the legal management of diverse judicial procedures in Civil and Commercial, Criminal, Administrative and Labour matters, also being in charge of exhausting the out-of-court route in such matters.

In February 2017 he joined “Pluslegal Abogados”, a firm of the “Enacom Group”, where he continued practising as a senior general practice lawyer, working, among many other matters, in Leasing, Sales and Purchase, Corporate, Banking, Insurance, Contracting and Licensing, Family, Inheritance, etc., providing out-of-court and procedural legal advice both to the companies of said business group and to other legal entities and individuals, until May 2018.

In June 2018, he joined “Ius Aequitas Abogados”, as a senior lawyer attached to the “Litigation and ADR” department, working mainly in Civil and Commerci

although due to his general practice profile he collaborates closely with the other partners of each department in multidisciplinary matters.

Finally, as part of his pro bono practice as a lawyer, it should also be noted that he was a duty lawyer for the “Turno de Oficio de Madrid” from November 2016 to June 2018, in General Civil, Commercial, Mortgage and Family matters, and, from the same date until the present, he has been a legal advisor and intercultural mediator for the “Cruz Roja Española (Spanish Red Cross)”, as well as a member of its team promoting Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
